I have found that on a Intel Celeron M 1.50GHz Acer travelmate with 2GB RAM, Windows 10 is just about acceptable, on an external monitor at 1440 x 900 You need to check the VGA cable for the external monitor, but it may just be a limitation of the graphics driver causing the blue colour cast. The 1024 x 600 native resolution is also not great. If limited to only 1GB of RAM, which will be shared with the videoRAM, it may never work satisfactorily. Windows 10 basic display adapter may be your only choice. It may be that you need to run the setup for all other drivers with Administrator privileges and with compatibility set to Windows XP SP3. The BIOS upgrade should be unaffected by the OS version. I imagine that the BIOS should be updated to the latest version and then the Chipset, ATK and then the VGA drivers. Only XP drivers are available for this device from ASUS:
